Gretna Green is known as the "Marriage Mecca" of the UK and every year many couples to come Gretna Green to be married, renew their wedding vows or have their children blessed or named over the anvil.
The Forge is a traditional sandstone building which stands in it's own gardens within The Mill Hotel on the outskirts of Gretna Green. The open timber roof along with the candlit ceremonies make for an enchanting church-like ambience which is perfect for renewing your vows or the blessing of your child.
Baby naming ceremonies are also very popular with people who were married in The Forge and would like their children "christened" in the same venue.
The costs for a renewal ceremony or a blessing / naming ceremony are The Forge fee plus a donation of approximately £120 to the Minister who conducts the ceremony.
